Dear Friends,
Gearing up for our busy season always brings a lot of excitement, much as going back to school does. It starts with a big uptick in service calls — including lots of requests to schedule heating system tune-ups.
A tune-up is the most essential piece of your “winter prep kit” and it will help ensure that you stay warm and comfortable all season. Regular maintenance prevents problems and keeps your heating system running better and more efficiently all winter. Appointments book up fast in the fall, so call today to schedule yours and get the time that’s most convenient for you.
When it comes to being prepared for winter, we also recommend signing up for automatic deliveries. This free service eliminates the need for you to call for deliveries and makes run-outs a thing of the past. Adding a monthly payment plan and a service plan can keep your heating costs manageable too.
Speaking of preparedness, we are constantly investing in equipment and training to make sure we’re ready to handle whatever Mother Nature brings to Long Island. We replace three to four trucks each year to keep our fleet up to date. We also have a new generator to guarantee that our office will stay up and running if the power goes out.
Our team is looking forward to making sure you remain warm and comfortable this winter. Give us a call and let us help you with your winter prep kit.
Warmly,
Bruce, Gary, Kent and Michael

Clean, efficient oil heat continues to keep millions of homes warm and safe no matter the weather. Recent declines in heating oil prices and positive forecasts for stable prices in the foreseeable future have made oil heat an even more appealing option. And there’s plenty of heating oil to go around because of abundant supply!
Renewable, cutting-edge and energy-efficient. These are all things you may be hearing about Bioheat® fuel. Bioheat is a blend of ultra-low-sulfur heating oil and biodiesel, which is made from natural sources, including soybeans, sunflowers, pumpkin seeds and more. Bioheat is made in the U.S., and that helps support local farmers, local industries and a local economy.
Designed with corrosion-resistant materials, today’s tanks can last for decades. New technology allows for remote monitoring to protect against the rare event of a leak and guarantees that you will always have a sufficient supply of heating oil on hand.
A driving force for the prevailing trend of stable, manageable oil prices has been the huge increases in U.S. crude oil production. The country is producing so much oil that we are moving toward being a net exporter, rather than a net importer. This could become a reality within the next 10 years, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Oil heat has a lot going for it, and many people put safety at the top of the list. While there are plenty of reasons that people feel safe at home with oil heat, here are just three points to remember.
The latest oil heating systems are small, smart and super-efficient and can save you, on average, about 30% on your annual heating costs. There are many different equipment options to fit your budget.

Our third-party-notification program ensures that family members and friends you care about never lose heat due to unpaid bills. If they do not respond to a fuel bill, we’ll contact their designated third party to make sure everything is OK.
There’s no financial responsibility for the third party, but this program ensures that vital fuel deliveries are not interrupted, and you can feel good about protecting loved ones from an unnecessary loss of heat. Call us today to enroll.
Meet Mike Ruscito. He joined us three years ago and quickly became a standout member of our service team.
He’s mainly a service technician, but he also helps out in the shop when it gets busy, drives an oil truck and refuels the Port Jeff ferry.
“It’s one of the things I like about Swezey,” says Mike. “It’s a family-run company. Everyone helps everyone else out.”
Mike served in the U.S. Navy for five years, and in his free time he loves working on his boat and going fishing.
“Moriches Inlet is the spot!” says Mike, who is getting married in this month.
Q: Will a new boiler help me save money?
A: Yes! New high-efficiency boilers produce more heat while using less fuel. They also distribute heat more evenly than older equipment, which tends to need more repairs with every passing year. Both the System 2000 and the Peerless WBV-03 boiler can help you reduce your annual heating costs by as much as 30%. And right now, when you purchase the Peerless boiler, you can take advantage of 18 months of 0% financing!
Q: It seems impossible to regulate the temperature in my bedrooms upstairs; any suggestions?
A: Talk with us about the Fujitsu ductless mini-split system. These units are ideal for rooms in your home that get either too hot or too cold. They are an affordable solution because no ductwork is required. Mini-split systems are super efficient at heating and cooling, and can help you save a lot of money in the years ahead.
Shortly before Christmas last year, the old heating system at the United Methodist Church of Patchogue failed. But the Swezey team quickly sprang into action and installed a new boiler, restoring warmth to the holiday season.
“Installing a new boiler was truly a miracle on Church Street — and it could not have been possible without your help,” the Reverend Dr. Charles Ferrara, the church’s pastor, told us. He’s also a longtime Swezey residential customer from Bellport.
“It has never crossed my mind to go with another company,” Pastor Ferrara said. “The professionalism of your staff and technicians and your reputation of reliability will keep us as satisfied customers for years to come.”
