Every year around this time, many of us spend time sharing gifts and enjoying the warmth of our family and home.
But for some people struggling to make ends meet, that warmth is hard to come by: circumstances may make bill paying – including heating bill paying – hard to manage, creating stress that can really take a toll on a family.
That’s why United Way created Project Warmth – Long Island’s only non-government, island-wide emergency fuel fund. Project Warmth provides a safety net for people who are unable to pay their heating bill in the form of a one-time grant that an eligible customer can use to pay for any fuel source, including oil, gas, electric, propane, kerosene, coal, wood, or electricity.
Swezey is a long-time sponsor of Project Warmth; we even serve on its Board of Directors. We support United Way’s work on this important project because we believe we have a responsibility to our Suffolk County neighbors – especially our neighbors who are most in need.
If you meet the requirements of the program – or if you would like to join us in supporting Project Warmth – please visit www.unitedwayli.org/projectwarmth today.
Happy holidays from our family to yours.
